Daily Care
- Brush before & after wear using a loop/extension brush (start at the ends, work up).
- Keep clips clean: if you use hairspray near the roots, wipe around clips occasionally so they don’t get sticky.
- Avoid heavy oils at the roots/clips (they can cause slipping and buildup).
Washing
- Wash only when needed (typically every 15–20 wears or when there’s buildup). Over-washing = dryness.
- Use sulfate-free, alcohol-free shampoo and conditioner.
- Apply conditioner mid-shaft to ends only (avoid the clips).
Drying + Styling
- Air dry flat when possible.
- If blow-drying, use low/medium heat + heat protectant.
- Keep hot tools moderate (300–350°F is a safe range) and avoid repeated passes.
- Never sleep, swim, or work out in your clip-ins.
Storage
- Store fully dry in satin bag.
- Keep in a cool, dry place away from humidity and direct sunlight.
- Brush and clip them together neatly before storing to prevent tangling.
What to Avoid (Prevents Discoloration + Damage)
- Sunscreen with Avobenzone (can cause yellowing/brassiness—especially on blondes).
- Purple shampoo on warm/blonde shades unless you’re toning intentionally (can over-tone).
- Alcohol-heavy sprays and sulfate shampoos (dryness + tangling).
- Chlorine + salt water (matting + fading).
